Back to Eastgate

We are now back home in Eastgate and this blog is where I shall mainly be posting from in the future although I will continue to add to 'Down in the Forest . . . ' until Moulin du Clout has passed into other hands.
The news may not be so exciting - no wild boar here - but we do have plenty happening in our lives and it may be good to record some of it. Don't expect too much juicy gossip though, that's not really my thing, but your name may be mentioned in passing, so read carefully.

The first event since our homecoming was Lloyd Lee performing Educating Charlie in the Market Theatre. This is part of his Dicken's series and very good it was too. The show was done over two nights and although the Friday was scantily attended due perhaps to the clash with the start of the Olympics, Saturday was good and enjoyable.

On Sunday a visit to Graig Fach to catch up with our grandchildren, Joni and Ben. We were behind with two birthdays, Jim on the 19th and Lincoln the day before, the 28th, so a cake was called for.

The family had other friends visiting and we all went off to visit Kidwelly Castle taking a picnic as the weather was fine.
There was a sculpture exhibition on at the castle and here are a few pieces that I liked. The deer was by one of their friends, Sarah.

Kid(s)welly Castle - get it?
Joni on the 'Throne'
Red Deer
Lurcher?
Lincoln and Jan

Despite the best efforts of Joyce Birmingham to weed the garden during our absence (she and Peter stayed in our house for a while) it is very overgrown. The result of not giving it enough attention during the past three years. It is in need of some radical cutting back.
We also have to sort out our stuff, the amount of which has become unmanageable. The loft is stacked up and then there is the storage unit at Brackla and we have to retrieve things from there at some stage. Where is it to go? Charity shops, boot fair, friends and family or can we just pack it away more efficiently?

The satisfaction of frustration of returning home after an extended absence - all the laundry, sorting, seeing friends and catching up. Have fun!

I have 'lost' this blog and now found it again. I hope you will keep posting. I looked for a link on the 'Down in the Forest' site.

Anyway there isn't much point in commenting now as a) I am too late and b) I have seen you anyway.
