The mug on the left is a china mug to commemorate our town twinning and is inscribed 'Cowbridge - Clisson 1991'
The other is a Victorian mug with the message 'God Speed the Plough'. On the other side it says:
'Let the wealthy and the great
Roll in splendour and state.
I envy them not I declare it.
I eat my own lamb,
My own chickens and ham
I shear my own fleece and I wear it.
I have lawns, I have bowers,
I have fruits, I have flowers.
The lark is my morning alarmer.
So jolly boys now,
Here's God speed the plough.
Long life and success to the farmer.

Here we have a cheap mug with a black and white picture drawn by Jim to sell during our Market Theatre's Jubilee production of 'The Knight of the Burning Pestle'in 1996
On the right a mug bought as a souvenier of the Glasgow Garden Festival 1998. I have several others in the same series but I didn't get to see all 5 of the Festivals - I missed out on Gateshead. For further information on the National Garden Festivals look in Wikipedia.

The brown mug is one of three we have thrown by a friend who was at college with us during the fifties. She graduated as a potter. If you are reading this Sally Vincent - we still have your mugs!
On the right is a King Charles III Coronation mug. They were produced by 'Private Eye' many years ago and we are still waiting!

The left one is a musical mug which plays the tune 'Ovaltina' when raised to the lips in use. I have three different ones and they were all produced by various companies as 'gifts'. They are light activated. They are not in regular use but I get them out occasionally for the delight of well-behaved children.
The other novelty mug was produced in the sixties and was part of a series of mugs, jugs and teapots with feet.
